Adam Schaye received his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1999. After practicing in a large New York City firm, Adam returned to Ithaca and joined Miller Mayer in 2001. He became a partner in 2007. Adam has extensive experience in several areas of civil litigation, including breach of contract, appellate practice, zoning and land use, Article 78 proceedings (contesting actions of municipalities and their boards), and matrimonial law. Mr. Schaye regularly represents companies, individuals and municipalities.

Recent reported appellate decisions in cases handled by Mr. Schaye include The Henson Group, Inc. v. Stacy, 66 A.D.3d 611 (1st Dep't 2009) (prevailed at trial and on appeal enforcing employer's non-competition agreement with former employee). Kenny v. Eddygate Park Assoc. et al., 34 A.D.3d 1017 (3rd Dep't 2006) (prevailed at trial and on appeal defending a landlord’s discretionary withholding of consent to a proposed assignment of a commercial restaurant lease). Blalock v. Board of Zoning Appeals of the City of Ithaca, et al., 17 A.D.3d 583 (3rd Dep't 2005) (prevailed on appeal in an Article 78 proceeding challenge of a BZA's decision regarding setback requirements and building permits).

Adam is active in the Ithaca community. He is president of the board of the Ithaca Montessori School, board member of the Ithaca United Soccer Club and chair of its Rules and Conduct Review Committee, and former board member of the Tompkins Cortland Habitat For Humanity chapter.
