Mr. Tyler's practice focuses on real property, planning and zoning, municipal law, banking and lending, and estate planning and estate administration. He has taught courses at Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga Board of Cooperative Educational Services on real estate law and distress situations such as foreclosure. He was commissioned in the U.S. Navy (Lt.), and served as ship's navigator (1969-1972), and was an Assistant District Attorney for Tompkins County (1979-1982). He has served on the board of directors of several not-for-profit organizations and is a former member (15 years) of the Town of Ulysses Planning Board (chair for 7 years). He is a member and Sixth Judicial District Vice-President of the New York State Bar Association, as well as a member of its real property and municipal law sections. He is a member and past President of the Tompkins County Bar Association.
