TRUST

Your family relies on you to provide for their future. You can rely on us to help you plan that future. We represent individual clients in all aspects of estate planning, serve as counsel to executors, administrators, and trustees, and represent clients involved in contested will and estate settlement proceedings. We advise on tax and non-tax planning for spouses, children, and grandchildren, including planning for those who are disabled or minors. We offer solutions for non-citizens, spouses in second marriages, and non-traditional families. The firm advises on the use of wills and the various types of trusts, both revocable and irrevocable, including credit shelter and QTIP trusts, charitable trusts, Crummey trusts, QPRT's, and irrevocable life insurance trusts. We can provide guidance and documents for all of the following:

  • Retirement benefits including the tax consequences of distributions, determining payout periods, specialized beneficiary designations and trusts to accept retirement distributions, and tax consequences of naming various tax exempt organizations to receive a share of retirement benefits.

  • Medicaid planning, including understanding resource and income limitations for Medicaid eligibility and the transfer rules related to eligibility, utilizing direct person-to-person transfers and transfers to trusts.
