Miller Mayer's Steve Yale-Loehr wasquoted in an article by the Associated Press (AP) that was picked up by anumber of other media outlets, including the CBS and Fox websites. In anarticle about the U.S. citizen teen from Texas who was recently"deported" to Colombia by mistake, he noted that hundreds of U.S.citizens are wrongfully deported or detained every year. "There are avariety of legitimate reasons why somebody might not appear to be a U.S.citizen at first glance," he said. "It's the duty of the U.S. federalimmigration agency to make sure that we do not detain and deport U.S. citizenserroneously. And this, unfortunately, happened in this case." Mr. Yale-Loehr also was quoted in Crain's New York Business online onJanuary 8, 2012, and in the print edition on January 9. Mr. Yale-Loehr notedthat potential EB-5 investors are getting skittish because the EB-5 program'sreauthorization depends on a dysfunctional Congress. "It behooves Congressto reauthorize this program. Mr. Yale-Loehr will speak at a number of events in NewYork City January 30–February 1 to promote the new Green Cards Stories bookmentioned above. Mr. Yale-Loehr co-wrotethe introduction for the book. He will participate in a panel discussion andbook signing at the NYU Kimmel Center, Room 802, 60 Washington Square, onMonday, January 30 from 7-9 pm. Mr. Yale-Loehr will participate in a similarpanel discussion and book signing at Columbia University's Stabile Student Center,2950 Broadway Avenue, on Tuesday, January 31 from 6-8 pm. Mr. Yale-Loehr willparticipate in a similar panel discussion and book signing at the law firm ofCleary Gottlieb, One Liberty Plaza, 39thFloor, on Wednesday, February 1 from 6-8 pm. All of these events are open tothe public. Mr. Yale-Loehr and the other Green Card Stories participants willalso be interviewed by the Voice of America on Tuesday January 31st, 2012.
